Jagannanna Garumudda (MDM) Project Was Introduced By The Government Of India To Address The Issues Of Malnutrition, Food Security, And Educational Opportunities For Poor Students In Rural And Urban Areas. The Program Provides Free Lunch On School Working Days For Primary And Upper Primary School Children In Government-Aided, Local Bodies STC, Madrasas, And Mastabas And Is Supported Under The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). The Project Was Launched In January 2003 For Primary School Children (Grades One To Five) And In October 2006 For High School Children (Grades Six To Eight) And High Schools (Grades Nine And Ten) With 100% State Funding. It Is Extended For Children. It Was Further Expanded From The 2010-11 Academic Year For Children Studying In Special Schools Under The NCLP.

The Objectives Of The YSR Jagannanna Garumudda Project Are:

Chief Minister Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy Has Directed The Concerned Officials To Implement The Revised Mid-Day Meal Project. The Implementations Of This Project Are As Follows

All District Education Officers (DEOs) Have Been Directed To Take All Necessary Steps To Implement The New Revised Mid-Day Meal Project.

Under The Mid-Day Meal Project, It Will Be Mandatory To Provide Boiled Eggs To Students In Government Schools, Educational Institutions And Madrasas Four Days A Week.

In Addition, The Education Officer Has Been Instructed To Submit The Bills For The Expenses Of The Midday Meal Of Each Month To The Treasury Office On The 5th Of The Month.

After Directing The Implementation Of The Jagannath Garumudda Project, The Chief Minister Has Announced An Honorary Increase In The Number Of Mid-Day Meal Workers.

Mid Day Meal Menu For Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme

  • Monday: Rice, Egg Curry,Chola (A Recipe For Peanut Gingerbread) 
  • Tuesday: Puliohara, Tomato Pulses, Boiled Eggs
  • Wednesday: Vegetable Rice, Potato Kurma, Boiled Eggs, Chola
  • Thursday:Kichidi, Tomato Sauce, Boiled Eggs
  • Friday : Rice, Asparagus, Boiled Eggs, Chhola
  • Saturday: Rice, Sambar, And Sweet Pongal

Eligibility Criteria

  • Student – Must Be A Student Of A School In Andhra Pradesh To Get A Mid-Day Meal.
  • Students From 1st Class To 10th Class Will Get The Benefit Of Mid-Day Meal.
  • Students In Andhra Pradesh Have To Study From Government Schools, Local Body Aided, Model Schools, NCLP And Madras

The Cooked Mid-Day Meal Program Is One Of The Most Important Flagship Programs In The Country. Originally, This Program Included Children Studying In Primary School (Class: I-V) And Later It Was Extended To The Upper Primary Level Of Education (Sixth-Eighth Grade). It Includes Government-Aided, Local Government Schools In Addition To Children Studying In Madrasa, NCLP, SSK, MSK, Etc.
